What do you charge?
After checking on our availability, this is the first thing everyone asks. We get it! You don't have an unlimited budget and need to know.
Here is the thing - it is impossible to give you a price without finding a little more about your wedding first. Here is what I will need to know to start putting together a price for you. Everything we do is customized to fit your dreams, and your budget.
- When and where is your wedding?
- Do you want ceremony as well as reception music?
- Is the ceremony and reception in the same location and in different areas at your venue?
- How many hours do you need us for?
- How big is your guest list?
- What extras do you want? Photo booth? Uplighting? Custom Monogram? Other Décor?
In fact, there are almost 2 dozen factors that go into calculating an accurate price quote for any DJ.
VERY IMPORTANT TO READ:
Any DJ who quotes a "one size - fits all" price (usually a $2,000 or $2,500 minimum) either doesn't care about you, or can't, won't or don't want to take the time to learn about your or your wedding vision. They view you as a date on the calendar for an easy paycheck...and here's why: many popular DJs intentionally over-sell you things you probably don't need, don't want or don't know they won't matter but have to pay for. (For example, many DJs "hard-sell" 6, 7, or 8 hours of services (or "unlimited time" or "for the night" time) knowing that more than likely, most wedding receptions will end in ~5 hours anyway. So, this additional time is rarely used anyway. It's just a slick selling point. That means that you maybe over-paying for perceived available time that may not happen anyway. If it ends early, then you should be offered a prorated refund on the contract without asking, right? Fair is fair. Unfortunately, no DJs do that. Another example: most DJs "hard sell" or "include" or "up-sell" up-lights in their packages knowing that the effective use of up-lighting won't be visible until after its dark anyway; especially with mountain venues that feature lots of windows in May - September. By the time it's dark enough for the up-lights to be effective (say 8 or 9pm), the wedding is wrapping up. This is another often guise of wasted money hidden to brides in something often not needed or useful in these bundled $2,000 or $2,500 packages.
